Not surprised by Manaforte sentencing

Those surprised by the lenient sentencing of Paul Manafort shouldn't be. Anyone paying attention would remember that Judge Ellis publicly excoriated the government's lawyers two years ago by claiming that they were going way out of bounds because, as he claimed, the prosecution was wrongly squeezing Manaforts's ' past history in a clandestine effort the effort to dig up info on the Trump investigations. I believe the sentencing had been decided then. The Judge's pre-conceived slap on the wrist has ruled. Guidelines be damned.
I really can't stress over the sentence one way or another; the system, bad as it is, is what it is. But all who are following this administrations's endless forays into the sewer would learn more by reading between the lines than by accepting the hyper-pap served by those only interested in playing the public like a fiddle.
