'Where have you gone, Joe Dimaggio?'

Lindsay Graham has inadvertently aired the current problem with his quiescent Republican Party, and the government generally, when he was quoted as saying, "If you are not in the business of getting re-elected, then you are in the wrong job." Exactly so.
If getting re-elected means more to a representative than defending our constitution and maintaining the values we promulgate throughout he world's community, that representative must properly be called a hack...and a hypocrite.
Even though it is the Republican Party that is now taking its turn in the barrel, the Democrats would fare no better were their instinct for political survival (and the accompanying perks) were threatened by a display of moral courage.
