Edward Lugo, 51, of Newton was sentenced to three years custodial probation. Additionally, he must serve 300 days in county jail, with credit for time served, submit to a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations, enroll in the DECIDE program, no contact with the victim, barred from owning, possession or controlling any firearms, Firearms Purchaser Identification Card, or Permit to Purchase, and pay mandatory fines and fees.
Lugo pleaded guilty on June 24, to aggravated assault, a third-degree crime.
Aug. 5
Robert A. Davis, 36 of Lake Hopatcong, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting, both fourth-degree crimes, theft of a credit card, a fourth-degree crime and fraudulent use of a credit card, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is presently anticipated for Sept. 20.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking merchandise from the ShopRite in Byram Township on Jan. 9.
Davis also admitted to taking a co-worker’s credit card on Jan. 22 and to using the credit card for unauthorized purchases.
The case was investigated by Detective Brian Hasssloch of the Sparta Township Police Department and Detective Robert Tierney of the Byram Police Department.

Thomas Walsh, 22 of Wantage, was sentenced to two years of probation. He was ordered to pay $12,472.34 in restitution. If the defendant pays $10,000 in restitution within the first year of probation, he will be discharged.
He pleaded guilty on June 17 to burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card, both third-degree crimes.
On Aug. 10, 2017, in Wantage, the defendant stole the personal property of another.
Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Nicole DeJesus, 20, of Newton was sentenced to two years of probation with credit for two days of time served. She was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service work and pay fines and fees totaling $1,155.
She pleaded guilty on June 17 to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
DeJesus was in possession of Lorazepam during a motor vehicle stop in Andover on March 23, 2017.
Juliann Heddy, 25 of Newton, was sentenced to two years of probation with a potential for discharge at 18 months. She was ordered to successfully complete an anger management program or other appropriate treatment, and pay fines and fees totaling $2,330.
She pleaded guilty on June 17 to making a false public alarm, a third-degree crime, and simple assault, a petty disorderly person’s offense.
The defendant knowingly caused a false alarm on May 7 by activating the fire alarm on the fourth floor of Gateway Apartments in Newton, and she had a physical altercation with a resident of another apartment.

He pleaded guilty on June 10, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, all third-degree crimes.
During a motor vehicle stop, Millington was found to be in possession of CDS, stolen electronics and numerous fraudulent credit cards and driver’s licenses.
