An Open Book to host author

NEWTON — Acclaimed children’s book author Artie Bennett will be at An Open Book in Newton for a reading and signing on Saturday, June 18, at 1 p.m. He is the author of The Butt Book, a riotous tribute to backsides, rumps, tushies, keisters, heinies, and derrieres in all their resplendent glory. Dozens of hysterical rhymes and loads of laugh-out-loud pictures pay homage to an unsung body part that keeps both kids and grown-ups giggling with glee. Youngsters will also have a blast completing the missing hindquarters of a dozen creatures and then coloring in the image in a fun coloring-and-activity book that Artie Bennett will be distributing free after his reading. The Butt Book was a huge hit at last year’s Brooklyn Book Festival, Princeton Children’s Book Festival, and Brooklyn Museum’s Children’s Book Fair. An Open Book is located at 169 Spring St., Newton.
