Author Diane Ochiltree to sign books at Sparta Books

SPARTA-Children's author Diane Ochiltree will return to Sparta Books for a signing of her latest book, Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins, from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23. Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins is a counting book in the form of a rhyming tale. It follows Sam, a spunky girl raccon, as she picks pumpkins two by two and four by four. But when her wagon tips over and they slide out, Sam must scramble after them before they all become pumpkin mush. Ochiltree has previously authored The Women's House, Pillow Pub, Ten Monkey Jamboree and Cats Add Up. Sparta Books is supportive of local writers and welcomes inquiries from area authors. The store is located at 41 Theatre Center (Route 181) in Sparta.
