Beemerville Fire Co. events digest

5k fun run to raise awareness for fire safety The Wantage Township Fire Department Beemerville Company 1 will host a 5K Fun Run and 1-mile Fun Walk to raise awareness for fire safety on Sunday, July 18 at the Beemerville Firehouse on Route 519 in Wantage. Registration on the day of the event begins at 7:30 a.m.; however, participants are encouraged to pre-register. Call 973-222-2447 for a registration form or register online at www.active.com. The pre-registration cost for 5K participants is $26 if received by July 15. The fee is $28 on the day of the race. For 1-mile walkers, pre-registration cost is $15 the day of the race. The first 150 registered racers/walkers receive a complimentary T-shirt and goody bag. All event attendees will receive fire safety pamphlets and giveaways. Registration forms and checks, made out to Beemerville Fire Department, can be mailed to Beemerville Fire Department, 227 Route 519, Wantage, NJ 07461. Race fees are tax deductible. All proceeds benefit the Beemerville Volunteer Fire Department. The 5K run and 1-mile walk will begin at the Beemerville Firehouse on Route 519. The 3.1-mile run will travel north on Route 519 to Decker Road, then to Holland Road, to Route 519 south and end at the firehouse. The 1-mile walk will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K run at 8:45 a.m. The 5K run will be timed by Fast Finishes and each participant will receive a race bib, courtesy of Road ID. The event will conclude with refreshments and an awards ceremony at 10:15 a.m. Fire police will assist motorists with detours between 8 and 10:30 a.m. For more information, call 973-222-2447. Spaghetti dinner supports firefighters The Beemerville Fire Department will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, July 17, at the firehouse from 5 to 8 p.m. The meal is sponsored by Family Pizza in the A&P Shopping Plaza Route 23, Wantage. All proceeds benefit the Beemerville Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets are available at the door: $8 for adults; $4 for children ages 4 to 12; children under 4 eat free.
