'Cabaret' opens Friday night at Museum Village

Monroe, N.Y. — Creative Theatre-Muddy Water Players’ production of the popular Broadway musical, “Cabaret” opens Friday evening, Sept. 16, at The Playhouse at Museum Village, Route 17M, in Monroe. This classic musical is set in 1930’s Berlin, as the romantic intrigues of several characters at a seedy nightclub play out amid the backdrop of the Nazi’s rise to power. Take your seat at the Kit Kat Club, the perfectly marvelous cabaret where singer Sally Bowles meets writer Cliff Bradshaw. As the two pursue a life of pleasure in Weimar Berlin, the world outside the Club begins to splinter. The music and lyrics are by John Kander and Fred Ebb with book by Joe Masteroff. The production and choreography are under the direction of Terri Brockmann. Brian Flint is the musical director. Performances are scheduled for Sep. 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30, and Oc.t 1 at 8 p.m., with matinees on Sunday, Sept. 25, Saturday, Oct 1. and Sunday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. Tickets to individual performances are $20 each, which includes dessert at intermission of apple pie, ice cream, iced tea and coffee. Season subscriptions, which include one ticket for each of the three Main Stage shows, and group rates are available. Reservations are strongly suggested.
