A couple of days after the turkey settles, the Sparta Avenue Stage is welcoming the folk-rock collaboration known as Chasing June.

Judy Aron and Steve Coleman are New Jersey singers/songwriters who have been recording, touring, and performing together since 2010. In August of that year, they released their first EP, their debut album, “Under the Slate Grey Sky” (Amazon Music) to rave reviews.

Their approach to song writing is collaborative. Often the spark for a song would happen with one artist, then get passed off to the other and back again. Their pitch-perfect vocal harmonies are influenced by duos like Indigo Girls and the Motown groups of past.

“We are so excited to have Chasing June perform at the stage,” said Sparta Stage co-proprietor Diane Garsetti. “Their music is wonderful. They are special artists and to be able to hear them in an intimate setting where you can appreciate their lyrics and harmony is something we are really looking forward to.”

Chasing June will debut several new songs from a soon-to-be released fourth album. The duo will be accompanied on stage by longtime Sussex County resident and percussionist Leo LaBarge, with Chris Hanlon on guitar, banjo, and mandolin, and Hannah Ferguson on cello and piano.

Refreshments will be available Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages and snacks.

Sparta Stage is a non-profit formed to educate and promote the performance arts in general with an emphasis and prominence placed on supporting the art of magic and prestidigitation.
