Childcare providers needed

SUSSEX COUNTY—NORWESCAP, North West New Jersey Community Action Program, through its Child and Family Resource Services, is asking parents to consider becoming registered family child care providers. Registered family child care providers care for no more than five children for part of a 24-hour period. Eight hours of training is required. State registration is voluntary in New Jersey, but registered childcare providers may participate in federal programs such as the Child Care Food Program, in which part of the cost of meals fed to the children is reimbursed. Current zoning laws permit a registered family child care provider to operate a business in a residentially zoned home. NORWESCAP refers parents to registered homes. In addition, providers receive a newsletter with information about workshops and other programs. For information on becoming a provider or obtaining childcare services, call 908-454-1078.
