‘Christmas in the Village' to involve multiple sites and activities

Jefferson - The Jefferson Arts Committee has scheduled a community-wide “Christmas in the Village” celebration from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event will include venues at several locations primarily located in the vicinity of Dover-Milton Road and Milton Road with additional events to be held as noted below. “Christmas in the Village” will be a day of family fun with no admission or parking fees. A free park-and-ride service will run throughout the day with parking available at the Jefferson Township Senior Center at 54 Schoolhouse Road and the American Legion Post #423 parking lot on Legion Road just off Berkshire Valley Road. Milton Road from Legion Road to Schoolhouse Road and Dover-Milton Road up to Wayfair Lane will be closed to traffic from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. At St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church on Milton Road Throughout the day - VFW Ladies Auxiliary’s Bake Sale, St. Gabriel’s Church’s Soup and Sandwich lunch, Jefferson Township Music Boosters’ Wreath Sale, Garden Club of Milton’s Wreath Decoration, Girl Scouts’ Toiletries for Teens collection, Junior Women’s Club fundraiser 11 a.m. - Jefferson Township Middle School Band Noon - Hands-on Workshop Session I by Gig the Florist 1 p.m. - Jefferson Township Community Band 2 p.m. - Hands-on Workshop Session II by Gig the Florist 2:30 p.m. - Morris County Dance Academy 4 p.m. -“A Christmas Carol” funded by the Jefferson Township Public Library At the Estey House on Milton Road: Throughout the day - “Art in the Mansion” Fine Art Show Noon - Covenant Brass 2 p.m. - Hurdtown Methodist Church Choir 3 p.m. - Jefferson Township Community Chorus At the Jefferson Township Museum on Dover-Milton Road Throughout the day - Victorian Christmas.
