Cowboy mounted shooting championship

MILFORD, Pa. — The Long Riders cowboy mounted shooting club of Long Island, N.Y., will hold their Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) New York State Championship event this weekend at the Malibu Dude Ranch in Milford, Pa. Contestants will compete in fast action timed events using two .45 caliber single action revolvers loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. CMSA has various levels of competition ranging from novice to seasoned professionals. A warm up match starts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 29. Championship matches begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, and 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 31. Tickets are $5 per person and children under the age of 4 are admitted free. The ranch is located at 351 Foster Hill Road in Milford. New owner Dr. Allan Detweiler says Malibu Ranch is the longest working dude ranch in the eastern United States. Package deals for accommodations are by the day, weekend or full week and are all-inclusive with meals and use of amenities. The scenic 800-acre site in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsyvlania offers horseback trail rides, horse camp for children, indoor pool, fishing and row boating, tennis, shooting range, monthly mechanical bull ride and more.
