Dancing and socializing at the Elks Lodge

West Milford — Sixty-five partyers got together at the township’s dance social on June 25 to celebrate dancing, the summer and great company. The township Community Services and Recreation Department, which sponsored the event, even extended the time of the party, which was supposed to end at 10 but went until 10:30 p.m. DJ Ron Dygos and his son, Jimmy, provided an array of music, from the 40s through the 70s. They included group dances like the Electric Slide and Country Line Dancing, there was something for everyone. Ballroom instructors Joe and Nancy Florio taught participants to float gracefully across the ballroom, while Ken and Joann Mitzko taught some country line dancing. If you missed this shindig, don’t fret. There’s not long to wait for the next one. It is scheduled for Sept. 10 at the West Milford Elks Lodge, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.
