NEWTON — Ginnie’s House, Sussex County Children’s Advocacy Center, is holding its 14th annual Fall Dinner Auction with Tricky Tray, Live and Silent Auction. The event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 28 at Perona Farms in Andover. The live auction will feature several unique items including dinner cooked in your home by a chef from 99 Acres, a personal styling session, Zookeeper for the Day at Space Farms, Tiffany and Judith Ripka jewelry and a fire pit package from Grinnell and the Anthony Group. The silent auction and tricky tray will feature gift certificates and gift baskets from a variety of businesses in Sussex County. Ginnie’s House Board of Directors will honor both Judge Dennis O’Leary and Sheila O’Leary for their vision and effort in the establishment and continuation of Ginnie’s House. As a former Sussex County Prosecutor, Judge O’Leary realized a compelling need to respond to child victims of sexual abuse in a child-friendly environment. This need precipitated the collaboration essential to create Ginnie’s House, a non-profit organization. Sheila O’Leary served as the Center’s first board chairperson for over 13 years. The event kicks off at 5 p.m. and will feature a special jewelry raffle provided by J. Thomas Jewelers of Sparta. A 50/50 will also be drawn at the event and tickets can be purchased in advance. The 50/50 in 2010 was over $6000. The winner need not be present to win. “Our annual dinner auction is the largest fundraiser of the year for Ginnie’s House and we hope to see many familiar faces at the event,” stated Ginnie Littell, Chair of the Board of Directors, Ginnie’s House. “Without the support and generosity of the community and local businesses we would not be able to offer the state of the art services to the children of Sussex County.” Tickets are $75 per person and includes hors d’oeuvres, sponsored by Lakeland Bank, dinner and dessert.
