HACKETTSTOWN - Donaldson’s Greenhouse & Nursery will host its fourth annual Holiday Open House, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Warm apple cider and cookies will be served in the comfort and warmth of the greenhouses, surrounded by a sea of vibrant poinsettias, and the sounds of seasonal music. “Father Christmas” will be on hand to greet neighbors and friends. With over 11 unique poinsettia varieties to choose from, Donaldson’s begins planting the tiny poinsettias in late summer that will then blossom and grow into beautiful, vibrant plants. The plants are constantly pruned and shaped to provide glorious color and vigor throughout the holiday season and beyond. The greenhouses and nurseries are filled with every color and size poinsettia imaginable, some mixed in groupings, others made into hanging baskets. The open house will also feature decorative wreaths, kissing balls, gift baskets and centerpieces, as well as a selection of fresh cut trees, greenery, holly branches, ivy topiaries, Christmas cactus and more. Donaldson’s gift certificates will be available for purchase. Advance orders for poinsettias from businesses and organizations are now being accepted.
