Drama will tell missionaries' story

SPARTA — On Nov. 5 and 6, The First Presbyterian Church of Sparta will present “Bridge of Blood,” a drama based on the true and powerful story of Jim Elliot and four other missionaries who died at the hands of the Waodani tribe in the jungles of Ecuador in 1956. Following their deaths, their wives and other family members went back into the jungle to share God’s love with the tribe. Their dedication and courage planted seeds of faith that continue to grow today. Currently, a third generation of Americans affectionately call tribal members “Grandfather” even though those very same individuals are the ones who murdered their own grandfathers. This story will be offered to the community at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. All proceeds go to local and worldwide missions. Child care is provided on Sunday.
