Drum making workshops offered at PEEC

Dingmans Ferry, PA - The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will be offering a Drum Making Workshop the weekend of July 15 to July 17, and a Full Moon Drumming Workshop on Saturday evening, Aug. 13. Master Drummer, Maxwell Kofi Donkor will lead the programs. In the “Drum Making Workshop,” Donkor will lead participants through the steps of making their own drums, from selecting the natural materials and soaking the skins to heading the shells. Included are introductory drumming lessons, sunrise drumming, and historical drumming culture. Registration is $325 and includes 2 nights of lodging and 6 meals. The “Full Moon Drumming Workshop” in August will be an introductory lesson and a drumming circle under the full moon. Registration is $30 for adults & $15 for children.
