Enjoy some Night Music

United Methodist Church hosting an evening of music and song from West Milford Newfoundland — Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011. That's when the United Methodist Church at Newfoundland is hosting Night Music: An evening of music and song from West Milford. It's a night of musical performances all by local artists. Those attending will hear contemporary, country, folk and classical music. One of the musicians who will be playing is Christine DeLeon, pictured above, the winner of the 2008 New Jersey Folk Festival Songwriting Competition. DeLeon's voice has been compared to a combination of Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and Judy Collins all in one. She writes her own artful songs. DeLeon began singing in a church choir at the age of eight; she started songwriting in her teens. In addition to the music, there will be a silent auction too. The auction starts at 6:30 p.m. The music is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for seniors and $5 for children 12 and under.
