SPARTA - Organizers of this year’s “Tech Trek” program at Sussex County Technical School are gearing up for this year’s “Super Saturday” event on Nov. 19. Since its inception in 2003, Tech Trek attendance has more than doubled, and more than 200 participants are expected this year. Tech Trek is a fun-filled day that gives students in grades six through eight and their parents the opportunity to explore their interests and try their hands at several different career fields in technical and vocational areas. This year, the program has expanded to include 28 interest areas. The program begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by three one-hour classes. Snacks and lunch will be provided. At the conclusion of the instructional portion of the program, Tech Trekkers and their families (siblings included) are invited to a family swim, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For information, call 973-383-6700, ext. 278, or go on line to www.sussex.tec.nj.us to download a form.
