Fall, winter acting classes set for teens

    West Milford — WR Acting Studio has announced its new six-week sessions for acting classes for teens in grades 8 through 12. The fall session starts Sept. 18 and the winter session begins Nov. 13, Acting I and II respectively This class will work with returning students in more advanced techniques and scene work and with new students on approach to character through theatre games, improv and scene work. The studio is also offering an additional class for tweens, Intro to Acting/Theatre for kids in grades 4 through 8. All students will explore their creativity through theatre games, improv and scene work. The more advanced will learn character development and script analysis while the newcomers will discover their inner creativity and self expression in a fun, safe environment. Special half-day workshops will be held. "The Business of Show Business" is set for Saturday, Nov. 5. Participants will explore the details of a career in theatre, film and television, headshots, resumes, audition prep, union and much more. "Song/Audition Deconstruction" will work on how to present a song for either performance or auditions. The instructors will break down the song from an acting and performance perspective to help the student feel connected and comfortable with the song. This takes place on Sunday Nov. 6.
