Fishing derby for kids

    Augusta — The Sussex County Federation of Sportsman’s Clubs will host its annual Children’s Fishing Derby and breakfast/lunch on Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. until noon, with a rain date of Sunday, May 22. Children 15 or younger can enter. Derby participants should provide their own fishing tackle. The Federation will provide worms. Food can be purchased from the Boy Scouts. Prizes will be awarded. Children 15 and younger don’t need a fishing license. The normal NJ fishing regulations will be observed. This year participants are asked to bring a can of food for the NORWESCAP food program. Additionally, cash donations would also be appreciated. The Derby will be held at the pond in the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Grounds, off Plains Road in Augusta.
