Flower photogrzphy exhibit in Sparta

SPARTA — David DesRoches' "The Art of Flower Photography" will show at the Sparta Ambulance Building, 14 Sparta Ave., Sparta, on Oct. 11. Doors open at 7 p.m.. The program starts at 7:30 p.m.
Whether photographing flowers in your garden or in a mountain meadow, there are techniques every level of photographer can use to create a photo worth hanging on your wall. David DesRoches’s program “The Art of Flower Photography” is designed to help you understand digital SLR camera settings and how to use them to manage light and sharpness. David will also cover the basics of composition and will share a few creative ideas that you can use to change an ordinary subject into a work of art.
DesRoches is an award-winning nature photographer. He has devoted the past 15 years traveling the globe, photographing the wonders of our natural world. He is an accomplished public speaker, instructor, and writer and is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association. DesRoches volunteers his time to teach photography classes for The New Jersey Audubon Society and managing the Cranford Environmental Commission award-winning web site. He is the 2014 recipient of the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs Citation in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of the art and science of photography in the State of New Jersey. His work is represented by the stock agency Animals Animals / Earth Scenes and his photographs and articles have appeared in several books and magazines.
