Free Zumba and yoga classes

    Lake Neepaulin — On Saturday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m., the public is invited to participate in Zumba and yoga classes at the Lake Neepaulin beach taught by fitness instructor Lauren Arnold. In the event of rain, the classes will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21, starting at 7 p.m. Each introductory session will be a half hour in length, beginning with Zumba at 7, followed by yoga at 7:30. There is no admission fee. Zumba, which was inspired by Latin dance, is one of the leading fitness trends, and endorsed by celebrities including Vanessa Williams and Eva Longoria Parker. Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual discipline that originated in ancient India, is extremely popular today. Celebrities such as Meg Ryan and Madonna have talked about the positive impact that yoga has made in their lives. Fitness instructor Arnold is certified in Zumba, Zumba Toning, CPR/AED and yoga. She also teaches Pilates, kickboxing and other classes. She has a background in performing, acting, modeling and teaching. Among her credits are performing for The Gypsy Kings, Bon Jovi, "Good Morning America" as well as a National Papa John’s Pizza commercial. She has also been featured on "All My Children," ongoing Honda commercials and she modeled for national brands such as Verizon Wireless and Web MD magazine. Her movie credits include "The Last International Playboy," starring Jason Behr, and The "Ironbound Vampire." She currently offers private-in home sessions.
