Get in the holiday spirit; it's Christmas in July
Lafayette The Grinch will be on hand this weekend to celebrate in the very dog-friendly Olde Lafayette Village. In fact, he’ll be looking to pose with dogs and people at Fuzzy Village, the new doggy daycare center. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Village Hall for photos, too. Pooches and people can get their photos on the spot or find their images posted on Shutterfly to create their own personalized holiday greeting cards. At noon on Saturday, and noon on Sunday, the first 30 dogs arriving at Fuzzy Station will collect a free set of dog-antlers. Then they can line up their “reindeer” for a parade around the village (courtesy of Fuzzy Station and The Village Barkery) at 1 p.m. on both days. Best in parade will win five free hours of doggy daycare at Fuzzy Station and a free nail clip and groom at The Village Barkery. Some other give-aways and fun-filled activities include: Two different outdoor bands will play under the trees with plenty of seating. Funnel Cakes and Fried Oreos from ABN Food, and an inspired seasonal drinks including the Poinsettia will be available in the non-alcoholic version at Everything Homemade. Get the high-test version of a special Holiday cocktail at the Lafayette House where visitors can sit outside with their dogs next to the pub or come inside to the rustic bar...decorated for the season. Christmas Carolers will be singing throughout the Village or join in for a sing along at the piano (courtesy of Music in Motion). Everything Homemade will be serving Christmas cookies and holiday drinks for people as well as for fuzzy friends. There is much more. Find out at facebook.com/Olde Lafayette Village.
