Get preview of handmade holiday gifts at Peters Valley this weekend

Peters Valley School of Craft is promoting local artists and items handmade in America at its holiday preview weekend, to be held on Nov. 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
During the season, both floors of the gallery will be filled with hundreds of beautiful handmade gifts, fall décor, and one-of-a-kind pieces perfect for your Thanksgiving host. Customers will get a first peak at the many new items in stock. Refreshments will be served.
The school will also host a "Come Try Your Hand At..." on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Six studios will offer hands-on sessions in blacksmithing, pottery, jewelry, printmaking, weaving or photography. This introduction is a chance to get a feel for an immersive workshop without committing to the two-to-five-day intensive courses offered during the regular season. The cost is $100 per session and includes all materials. Register at petersvalley.org.
The annual gallery open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 8. Artists will give demonstrations on both floors of the gallery. Customers can relax with a cup of hot apple cider and treats as the staff helps them select presents. The gallery is stocked with ornaments, jewelry, pottery and ceramics, scarves, clothing and accessories, glass, photography, fine art, mixed media, metal, soaps, toys, wood and more at a variety of price points. Open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Peters Valley Gallery is located at 19 Kuhn Road in Layton, N.J.
