Gingerbread house fundraiser promises fun for all

    SPARTA — The Sparta Middle School will be bustling with activity on Saturday, Dec. 10 as the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta hosts Gingerbread For A Cause, benefiting Katie’s House of Newton. This fun-filled event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p..m. Free admission includes temporary holiday tattoos, writing letters to Santa, storytime and, of course, the display of gingerbread houses. Lyn Gebhard from the Sparta Library will lead the holiday story time from 1:30 to 2:30. The silent auction will feature items including jewelry, fully decorated Christmas trees, signed posters from the NY Giants and NY Jets, floral centerpieces, Laser One laser tag passes, gift certificates and more. The bidding for the silent auction will conclude at 3 p.m. with winners being announced at 3:30. There will be three holiday crafts, voting for the best gingerbread house, personalized Christmas ornaments. and Mrs. Claus’s bake sale.
