Hike Harriman's Pingyp Mountain with Weis Wyanokie Wanderers

    Ringwood — Take on Harriman's steepest and most challenging climb, up the bare rocks of Pingyp Mountain, then on to more adventure with the Weis Wyanokie Wanderers Hiking Club. You will find dramatic and beautiful overlooks of the Hudson River and the Palisades. The hike takes place on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9 a.m. The terrain is steep and the pace is fast so good cardiovascular fitness is required. Participants must wear appropriate hiking footwear, dress in layers appropriate for weather conditions, bring lunch and plenty of fluids. This hike is open to both members and nonmembers of the club, with a limit of 25 participants. Cost for members is $5; $8 for nonmembers. For those wanting to become members of the WWW Hiking Club, the yearly membership is $69 and includes 12 monthly hikes and two annual challenge hikes. Plus you will get a pack patch and a Weis Trail Map t-shirt.
