Jazz fundraiser benefits High Point
MUSIC. Tributes to Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac are on the schedule.


Friday, May 30
A special fundraiser featuring the High Point Jazz Ensemble & Alumni Band starts at 6 p.m. at Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville. The night of top-notch jazz and cocktails supports High Point Regional High School’s music programs.
Also at 6 p.m., you can catch Cassidy Rain playing tunes that are bluesy, folksy and raw with a rock ’n’ roll edge at the Lafayette House, 75 Route 15.
Barry McArdle plays a mix of classic acoustic favorites at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, alson at 6 p.m.
One Size Fits All delivers high-energy rock covers at 7 p.m. at Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin.
For fans of Tom Petty, Pure Petty performs an electrifying tribute show at Blue Arrow Farm, 86 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, N.Y., bringing uncanny vocal and visual resemblance to the legend. Tickets are available online at bluearrowfarm.com
Rene Villa offers a solo performance at Sparta Pour House, 43 Center St., at 8 p.m.
Shane Casey brings his folk-rock blend to Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta, at the same time. He will be joined by Teddy Owen, who leans into rockabilly and Americana influences.
For a theatrical Fleetwood Mac experience, TUSK returns to the Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St., at 8 p.m. with unmatched chemistry and vocal harmony. Tickets are available online at skypac.org
Karaoke fun begins at 9 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Pub & Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton.
Saturday, May 31
Scott Ringle performs a versatile, multi-genre set at 10 a.m. at the Sparta Farmers Market, 89 S. Sparta Ave.
Head to Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton, where Brian McLaughlin performs acoustic rock and folk at 4 p.m.
Parachute Adams takes the stage at 6 p.m. at the Lafayette House, blending Americana, country and folk in what it dubs “TrOutlaw Country.”
At Brick & Brew, the Andrea Nies Duo launches a powerful vocal performance at 7 p.m.
The Barrelhouse Blues Band rocks Milk Street Distillery with its funky blend of blues and classic rock at the same time.
The I-287 Classic Rock Duo brings nostalgic hits to McQ’s Pub, also at 7 p.m.
TUSK returns to the Newton Theatre at 8 p.m. for a second show.
Cap off the night with Kevin Sullivan’s acoustic set of originals and covers at O’Reilly’s beginning at 9 p.m.
Sunday, June 1
Enjoy a mellow afternoon break with an intimate acoustic performance by local favorite Maribyrd at 2:30 p.m. at Angry Erik Brewing.
Wednesday, June 4
Karaoke night, hosted by Ray Sikora, starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta. A community staple, this event invites performers of all skill levels to sing their favorite tunes.
Thursday, June 5
The Homestead Rest kicks off its acoustic open mic night at 6 p.m., with sign-ups beginning at 5:30 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m., Krogh’s welcomes David Kraai, whose Americana style blends country, folk and rock with influences such as Gram Parsons and Neil Young.
Tab Benoit takes the stage at 8 p.m. at the Newton Theatre as part of his national tour supporting his album “I Hear Thunder.” Known for his fiery guitar work and soulful vocals, Benoit promises powerful blues and a message rooted in both tradition and activism.
