Jefferson Rec to host Radio City ‘Christmas Spectacular' excursion

    JEFFERSON TWP.-The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is sponsoring a special bus trip to New York City on Thursday, Nov. 10, to see a 7:30 p.m. performance of Radio City Music Hall’s legendary “Christmas Spectacular.” Area schools will be closed that day and on Friday, Nov. 11, for the annual convention of the N.J. Education Association. Tickets are $53 per person and include first mezzanine seating, transportation by motor coach, and driver gratuity; and the show is 90 minutes long. The bus will leave the Jefferson Township Municipal Building at 1033 Weldon Rd. at 5 p.m. sharp and leave New York at approximately 9:30 p.m. for the return trip home. America’s most beloved holiday theatrical show stars the world-famous precision dancing Rockettes on the Great Stage in breathtaking precision dance routines, elaborate costumes, stunning stage effects and more. In addition to show-stopping favorites like the famous “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and the breathtaking “Living Nativity” featuring live animals, there’s a brand-new opening to the show. A new scene, “Deck the Halls,” has been added and is set at Radio City Music Hall on the opening night of the show as the Rockettes decorate the historic venue for the holiday. Included are a delightful new tap number, a rousing new song, “I See Christmas Everywhere,” and innovative new sets. Audiences will also see an exciting 3-D film that takes viewers on a magical sleigh ride through New York City.
