NEWTON-The student council at Kittatinny Regional High School recently presented Jim Cunneely, who teaches French at the school, with a gift at their last meeting of the year. Cunneely was selected to be the Kittatinny Teacher of the Year and as such, he became the school's nominee for the 2005 Governor's Teacher Recognition Program. It has become a tradition for the student council to present a gift to the teacher chosen for this honor every year. According to principal Susan Kappler, Cunneely is not only a dedicated teacher, but also the advisor to the National Honor Society and a coach for the girls junior varsity soccer team. In the classroom, his lessons are focused, varied, entertaining and educational, helping his students not only read, write, and speak French, but also think French.
