— Internationally acclaimed close–up magician, Michael Vincent, will entertain audiences at the Sparta Avenue Stage on Thursday, November 16. The following night, Friday, Tony Sands, will present his multimedia tribute to Frank Sinatra, by singing and impersonating “Old Blue Eyes” while he projects images of the life and times of Frank Sinatra.
Joe Garsetti, co-proprietor of the Sparta Avenue Stage, said,” We realize we have two fantastic shows back to back but when such great talents are in the area we try to accommodate their schedules.” Michael Vincent is from London, England and considered one of the top magicians in the world. He has been named the United Kingdom’s best close–up magician three times by the prestigious Magic Circle organization. He has appeared several times on Penn and Teller’s hit TV show “Fool Us” and Penn Jillette called Michael Vincent “one of his favorite performers.” Sparta Stage recently updated their technology so although Michael Vincent will be performing stunning close-up magic, his magic is clearly visible to the entire audience via a 4K overhead camera which projects the magic on a large screen right above the performer. The audience can appreciate the details of the effects and still see the close-up table and feel the vibe of the live performance. Michael Vincent is stylish and sophisticated and his show is appropriate for all ages. Refreshments will be available before the show and Michael Vincent will have a special lecture for magicians only immediately following the performance. Tickets are $20 with discounts available for those magicians attending the show and the lecture. Discount coupons are available at the Sparta Stage or mention the $2 discount when making reservations. Call 973-769-2893 to reserve seats or buy online at spartastage.com.
The very next evening, Friday night, Nov 17th, at 8 PM is an opportunity to go back in time when Tony Sands brings “It Was a Very Good Year” to the Sparta Stage. Tony impersonates Frank Sinatra in voice and mannerisms and takes the audience on a journey through Frank Sinatra’s life. His multimedia presentation begins with photos and music from Frank’s early years with Tommy Dorsey to his great comeback at Madison Square Garden. Tony Sands travels the country performing Frank Sinatra tribute shows such as “The Rat Pack” with Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. impersonators. Diane Garsetti co-proprietor of the Sparta Stage states, “The Stage will be set up ‘nightclub style’ with chairs set café style around small tables. Refreshments will be available but people should feel free to bring their own (or stop by Burkes next door). As a special incentive, wearing a stole or a stylish fedora will give you a $5 discount off the $25 ticket price. I love Frank Sinatra. It should be a fun evening.” Reservations can be made by calling 973-769-2893 or visiting spartastage.com.
