Local restaurant goes Hollywood

VERNON-Harpoon Bay, a popular seafood restaurant on the border of Vernon and Warwick, N.Y., served as headquarters for a movie shoot Sept. 21. Among the actors starring in the film are Connie Nielsen and Rutger Howard. The film crew used the restaurant for hair and makeup before shooting scenes on nearby Barret Rd. Nielsen has starred in such movies as Gladiator with Russell Crowe, One Hour Photo with Robin Williams, and Basic with John Travolta and Sam Jackson. Howard has been in the movies for 45 years. His recent credits include appearances in Batman Begins, Blind Justice and The Huntsman. The actors and crew joined Harpoon Bay proprietor Denis Viera and his wife, Linda, for lunch, and Nielsen played hopscotch with their daughter, Tiffany.
