Ringwood — Grab a lawn chair or blanket and come listen to the wonderful sound of Loretta Hagen at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden on Friday, July 8. Known for her rich alto voice and heart-tugging songs, Hagen is a singer-songwriter whose musical career spans over two decades. Weaving folk, country, rock and blues, she writes songs that possess strong, catchy melodies and passionate, poignant lyrics. She has an uncanny ability to make an audience feel right at home, leaving them smiling, laughing, crying, and singing along, as she reflects about love, loss, courage, hope and perseverance. Light refreshments are available for purchase or you can bring your own, but no alcohol or pets are allowed. If the weather is bad, the concerts are moved indoors into the Carriage House Visitor Center. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. A $5 per person donation is requested. The New Jersey Botanical Garden is located at 2 Morris Road, Ringwood.
