Sugar Loaf — “Lennon-Live” comes to the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Oct. 8, just in time to serve as a celebration of John Lennon’s 71st birthday the next day, on October 9th. The show, presented by Kings Theatre Company, is a tribute to the music and life of John Lennon from the Beatles era through his solo career. “Lennon-Live” stars Peter Gendron, a singer songwriter originally from Rhode Island. Starting off in the cover band circuit and fronting his own original band in the 1980’s ,he played all over the country. One of his original songs “Temporary Solutions” was included on the Living Rooms “City History” album in 1984 along with local legends the Schemers and the Neighborhoods. In 1998 this longtime Beatle fan auditioned for and won the role of John Lennon in The Fab Four (later The Best Of Beatlemania), playing across the United States and into Canada and Mexico. “Lennon-Live” takes all of John’s Beatles and solo music and presents it in a live setting, featuring many songs that John never played live. This theatrical event takes you from the late Beatles’ days right up to the last days of John’s life through a multi-media montage, spoken words and music.
