Age: 17 Parents: Dara and Greg Perlmutter Academic Accomplishments: I maintained a high honor roll grade point average throughout all four years of high school. My cumulative GPA is a 3.76. Plans for the future: I am attending college to further my education, obtaining work experience during and after the completion of a bachelor degree in Marketing/Communications, and intend to be self-employed. Most important issue affecting Sparta: The most grave issue in Sparta is the overcrowded schools. For instance, the high school has classes with up to 35 students. An additional high school needs to be built in order to reduce the overcrowded status. Sparta is constructing several residential developments and this increases the amount of students enrolled in Sparta schools. Community Involvement: - DECA I have been a member for three years. As a sophomore I attended the state conference. I have been a school store employee for two years. I am the DECA chapter president - FBLA I have been a member for three years and held the position of treasurer for 2 years. Took part in several community service projects with FBLA - PDP Leader. - Junior and Senior Year Horseback riding lessons. I began riding at age 12. - Tennis Team. Freshman -Junior year. Tennis Lessons. I continue to play on a consistent basis with a league at the Sparta Athletic Club. - Tutor for Spanish. Junior and Senior year. - Co-op Education Program. Senior year. Employed at Corporate-Tele Consultants, a telecommunications business. I hold the position of secretary and accountant's assistant. Part-time, 16-20 hours per week.
