Over 100 people turned out for a Mother’s Day jazz brunch event benefiting Pass It Along, an organization focusing on youth leadership and social service. Sponsored by Richard Brownstein, certified financial planner and managing director of Financial Health Center, the event raised $500 that will go toward programs to help students develop an ethic for public service with the goal of volunteerism becoming a fundamental part of their lives forever. Brownstein is the host of “Road to Riches,” a cable show that explores how national topics affect the local community in the conversation of retirement. He hopes to continue it as a yearly tradition and create some new events whose proceeds will go toward other worthy charities as well.
