VERNON-Four Vernon Township High School students toured Europe this past summer with American Music Abroad Honor Bands, Choirs and Orchestras. This year was the thirtieth year of music travel sponsored by American Music Abroad of Haddonfield. The students performed concerts in France, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. Students were selected based on recommendations and musical achievement demonstrated on audition tapes. The group consisted of 50 students from 10 states. Before going to Europe, the students met at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania for a three-day pre-tour orientation and rehearsal session, which included an introduction to European art and architecture and guidelines for touring. The orientation ended with a concert for their families and friends of the music they would be performing in Europe.
