Newton's Cicchino to open at comedy club Nov. 26

NEWTON - Gina Maria Cicchino, a Catch A Rising Star College Comedy finalist earlier this year, will open an evening of comedy Nov. 26 at Good Times Restaurant in Oxford (Warren County). Cicchino, a resident of Newton, is a senior at Rider University. Victor Cruz, an up-and-coming comedian who has appeared throughout the tri-state area, is the evening’s special guest comic, and the show will be headlined by Peaches Rodriguez. Rodriguez loves to appear before audiences, whether it’s at a New York club or before a dinner crowd at Good Times Restaurant. “I’m extremely happy with what I do, with what’s going on with me and my audience,” says Rodriguez. Rodriguez got her start in show business as a dancer in music videos. She turned to comedy only after an injury forced her out of dancing. She joined an improv comedy group. Eventually, she decided to embark on a career as a stand-up comic. Rodriguez re-funneled her dance energy into comedy, which has worked very well for her as she has became one of the top comics on the east coast over a 12-year comedy career.
