Nine Mile Skid, Malfunction Junction headline Katrina relief festival

    HAMBURG-Nine Mile Skid, a Grateful Dead cover band, and Malfunction Junction, an alternative/country group, will headline the Hurricane Relief Festival at Frank's Castle Grille in Hamburg from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. All proceeds from the $12 admission price will go to hurricane relief, split evenly between Feed the Children, which has provided more than 210 truckloads of food to effected areas, and PetSmart Charities, which is providing support to animal welfare agencies assisting pet victims of Hurricane Katrina. The festival will begin outside with live acoustic music at the Tiki bar. The Hippie Shop will be open, selling shirts and crafts, and will also make a donation to the relief effort. Malfunction Junction will perform outdoors beginning around 6 p.m. The festival then will move indoors for two full sets of Grateful Dead music performed by Nine Mile Skid.
