Paralegal receives award for excellence

    SPARTA-Susan Hughes, an estate planning paralegal with Laddey, Clark & Ryan, was presented with the Presidential Award by Dr. Bradley M. Gottfried, president of Sussex County Community College, at the Student Excellence Awards Ceremony on May 4. Hughes graduated with a GPA of 4.0 and has earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree with highest honors in paralegal studies. Hughes and her husband, Peter, are Fredon Township residents. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society, and also holds a bachelors in education, magna cum laude, from Rider University, Lawrenceville. Hughes joined Laddey, Clark & Ryan in 2004, working in the estate planning practice group chaired by Richard Clark. Hughes' focus is in the preparation of wills, living wills, powers of attorney, trust documents and deed transfers. She also assists with the preparation of documents for estate administration and estate litigation matters. The law firm is headquartered at 60 Blue Heron Road, near the Sparta/Lake Mohawk business district exit off Rte. 15.
