SUSSEX — Tri-State Actors Theater will present two staged readings of the Anne Nelson's play, The Guys, as a benefit for the Sussex and Wantage fire departments. The readings will be given at the historic Crescent Theater on Main St. in Sussex at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 20 and 21. The play was written in honor of the sacrifices made by our uniform services on September 11, 2001. Nick, a fire captain, seeks out the help of a writer, Joan, to compose eulogies for the colleagues and friends he lost in the catastrophic events of 9/11. The two people, who under normal circumstances never would have met, learn about themselves, about life, and about the healing power of human connection, through talking about the guys. Mary Clifford, the artistic director and founder of the Illustrious Theatre in Warwick, N.Y., and a guest director and actor for Tri-State, will direct the reading featuring Jeff Brainard and Priscilla Foglia in the roles of Nick and Joan. Tickets are $25, $23 for seniors and students. For advance reservations or more information, call 973-875-2950.
