SUSSEX COUNTY-Annually, Ronetco Supermarkets, Inc.'s ShopRite supermarkets participate in the Check Out Hunger campaign, which benefits the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. That Food Bank serves numerous agencies right in the communities where Ronetco ShopRites are located. To encourage Check Out Hunger donations, as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, Ronetco will donate 50 cents to the Check Out Hunger campaign for every loaf of Fresh Bakery Hot Bread purchased between Wednesday, Nov. 17 and Wednesday, Nov. 24. Additionally, Cashiers will ask customers if they would like to participate by purchasing vouchers in varying amounts from $1 to $5, which will be scanned and the amount added to his/her order. The donation will automatically be donated to the Food Bank. Regional food banks are dependent on the money raised through this program to meet the needs of children, seniors and adults who seek help through the 1500 non-profit organizations in New Jersey who benefit from "Check Out Hunger". Last year, Ronetco's customers and associates donated over $13,000 to the Check Out Hunger campaign. Ronetco Supermarkets donations by customers and associates have already exceeded the $12,000 mark. Unfortunately, the number of hungry residents grows each year and Ronetco is hoping to raise many more dollars this year.
