SCCC summer concert series

    NEWTON — Sussex County Community College’s Thursdays on the Green will kick off the 2011 season on June 30 with a performance by The United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus. This free concert series has been a summer tradition for hundreds of Sussex County residents for eight years. In addition to the music there will be vendors, artisans, giveaways and more. Each of the performances will be held on the Lakeland Bank Pavilion. All shows begin at 7 p.m., rain or shine, with the exception of the July 7 show which will begin at 6 p.m. Refreshments are available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting scholarships at SCCC.
