Seniors asked to submit work for show featuring artists over 60

    Newton — In cooperation with the NJ Senior Citizen Art Show, artists over 60 years of age who reside in Sussex County are invited to submit up to three works of art to be included in the Senior Art Show at the Judicial Center’s Public Gallery in Newton. The show will run from June 28 to Aug. 16 and is open to professional and nonprofessional artists. Artists may exhibit two-dimensional artwork created in the past three years. Three-dimensional work is not eligible. There is hanging fee of $5 per piece. From the public gallery show, the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council’s Arts Coordinator Chriss Murphy will select works for the annual state show and competition. The state show will be held at the Meadow Lakes in East Windsor, from Sept. 26 to Oct. 28. To participate in the show, artwork and registration must be brought to the Judicial Center Public Gallery on Tuesday, June 28, between 12 and 2 p.m. The gallery is located on the second floor of the Sussex County Judicial Center, 43-45 High St., Newton. Hours at the Judicial Center are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Artwork can be viewed during normal business hours.
