Skilled volunteers needed for urban breeding bird atlas

BERNARDSVILLE-Skilled volunteers are being sought to collect data on breeding occurrences of endangered, threatened, and special concern bird species in urban areas associated with the Raritan Bay/Raritan River, Arthur Kill, Kill van Kull, lower Passaic, and Hackensack River watersheds. This project is a collaborative effort of New Jersey Audubon Society (NJAS), New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife/Endangered and Nongame Species Program, New York/New Jersey Baykeeper, and Hackensack Riverkeeper. Participants must have be able to identify by sight or sound, New Jersey's endangered and threatened bird species, be willing to visit sites twice during the breeding season, spend approximately two hours per visit, depending on the site, and take careful notes of their observations.
