Song and dance in Lenape Valley stage production

    STANHOPE—The rock ‘n' roll dance musical "Footloose" comes to the stage at Lenape Valley Regional High School this weekend. The lead roles are played by Ronald Chicken and Cari Jones. Other cast members include Betty Klinck, Bobby Giglio, Jacque Leiva, and Kirby Smith. "Footloose" tells the story of a city boy from Chicago moving to a small farming town where dancing is banned by the local preacher. In the end, the boy, the preacher, the preacher's daughter, the choir, the congregation, and the whole town wind up dancing. Musical director Chuck Linnel, orchestra conductor Domnick Ferrara, and director Mitchell Ruff collaborated on the production. The dancers are led by captains Dana Weaver and Melanie Donovan, with choreography by Stephanie Warkulwiz. The production will enhanced by such technical touches as a fiber optic curtain with changing colors. Showtime on Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16, is 7:30 p.m., the Sunday matinee is at 2p.m. For ticket information, call 973-347-7600.
