A free reception will be held at the Atrium Gallery on Friday Oct. 2 from 6:30-8:30pm to meet the artists and view the artworks.
Kurie has recently won The Butler Institute of American Art Award at Allied Artists of America, Inc. in New York City.
She has also exhibited in The Fort Wayne Museum of Art's Contemporary Realism Biennial.
Kurie's work can be seen in the October/November 2015 issue of International Artist Magazine.
Alex Tirpack of The Sussex County-Milford Journal writes of her work:
"Not only does Kurie capture the essence of her subjects with masterful brushwork and an eye for realism, but her heavy emphasis on lighting adds layer upon layer of definition and emotion, forcing one to consider seemingly mundane objects in ways only art can convey."
And Dr. Lynn L. Siebert, Director of Arts Participation & Communication writes,
"Viewers can marvel at contemporary realist artist Elaine Kuries exceptional ability to capture texture, light and line with astounding precision and elegance in her oils."
By contrast, the forceful, dramatic and vibrant oil-acrylic and mixed media paintings by Mitchell Rosenzweig have vivid colors, abstract forms and highlight his three-dimensional, multi-layered approach to painting.
Sharon Pitts elegantly refined, subtle hued and distinctively large-scale watercolors are complimented by photographer Peter Tilgner's photographs.
Tilgner creates thought-provoking photo art by merging the unplannedand combining images of everyday people, places and things into content driven images.
Christine Wagner's art features bright and basic colors, both linear geometric and fluid organic forms evoking Mondrian and Miro.
Janet Boltax's moving series, " Aging in America ", features intriguing oil portraits and accompanying interviews with each paintings subject capturing in both words and images.
The artworks will be on display at the Atrium Art Gallery located at the Morris County Administration and Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown until Jan. 7, 2016.
