Sparta grad joins honor society

NEWTON—Shawn Michael Sandau, a 2003 graduate of Sparta High School, has been inducted into the honor society Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Upsilon Pi Chapter, at Sussex County Community College. Sandau is studying for an associates degree in fire science, and hopes to become a paid firefighter and later an arson investigator. His parents, Jack and Lorri Sandau, live in Sparta.
