Sparta United Methodist Church Supports Risingville Interfaith Service Effort (RISE)

Every summer, youth and adults from churches throughout New Jersey and other states spend a week operating in small teams repairing the homes of those who can’t help themselves. This group of young people and adults from Sparta United Methodist Church gave a week of their summer to help those in need in Steuben County, N.Y. The groups tackle a range of tasks, from painting, dry-walling, re-shingling, re-roofing to building handicapped ramps and walker steps. The RISE team members stay in local churches and schools in the area free of charge and hire local cooks to provide their meals. They are supported by church fundraisers and donations. Photo provided
