Sparta Woman's Club readies for holiday season

    SPARTA - The December general meeting of the Sparta Woman’s Club will begin at noon Wednesday, Dec. 7. A complimentary luncheon will be served in the ballroom of the Lake Mohawk Country Club, overlooking the lake. The club’s Literature Department will host their annual Chinese Auction. After lunch,the Sparta High School Select Choir will present a musical program. Newcomers are welcome to attend. Other December activities open to all members include: The Mah Jongg group meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday. All proceeds generated are donated to various Woman’s Club causes adopted by the group. The Circle of Yarns meets from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Thursday afternoon to create pieces donated to various charities and hospital affiliates in the Sparta area.
