Sussex college student wins prize

Erin Shane of Sussex was recently named the Helen Gibson Dinsmore ‘36 Prizewinner at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition banquet. The Helen Gibson Dinsmore ‘36 Prize is given annually by Helen Gibson Dinsmore to a junior excelling in academics and extracurricular achievements. Shane, an education and history major, was the 2005 summer registration chair for Orientation. She is vice president of the Chiciettes, a varsity cheerleading captain, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma. She is also a Dorm Council treasurer, Gold Key secretary, and Student Athlete Advisory Board treasurer and secretary.
